Educational Developement Schemes (State Run Schemes)
The State Government is giving special stress to the issue of Educational Development among students of the minority communities. So, a wide range of stipend and scholarships have been introduced to encourage and help students of the minority communities as follows:
1. PRE-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP FOR MINORITY STUDENTS
At present under the scheme the minority students of Classes of VI to VIII are getting scholarship stipend @ Rs.40/- per month per student and Classes IX & X Rs.50/- per month per student. The students whose parents/guardians annual income does not exceed ` 44,500/- are eligible to get the scholarship stipend. The rate of Pre-metric Scholarship and the income ceiling of the parents /guardians not enough considering the prevailing price index. The rate of Pre-metric Scholarship may be enhanced to Rs.100/- per month per student and also the income ceiling of the parents should be enhanced to Rs.3.00 lakh.

2. POST-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MINORITY STUDENTS
At present under the scheme the minority students of Classes of XI & XII are getting scholarship stipend @Rs.65/- per month per student. The students whose parents/guardians annual income does not exceed ` 44,500/- are eligible to get the scholarship. Considering the prevailing price index the rate of Post-metric Scholarship may be enhanced to ` 100/- per month per student and also the income ceiling of the parents should be enhanced Rs.44,500/- to Rs.3.00 lakh.

3. BOARDING HOUSE STIPEND FOR MINORITY STUDENTS
At present the minority students of Classes who are residing in the hostel are getting Boarding House Stipend Rs.30 per day per student and Rs.1/- per day per student for sweeping /clearing charges. This amount is quite insufficient to cover the required expenditure in view of the above present price hike. The amount is paid for 322 days in a year. The rate of Boarding House Stipend may be enhanced to Rs.50/- per day per student.

4. MOULANA ABUL KALAM AZAD MEMORIAL MERIT AWARD
The minority students who secured 60% marks in the Annual Examination are getting the “Moulana Abul Kalam Azad Award.” The rate of award for the students of Madhyamik/ H.S.+ 2 stage requires to be enhanced from Rs. 1,500/- to Rs. 3,000/-.

5. SPECIAL INCENTIVE FOR MINORITY GIRL STUDENTS
The objective of the scheme is to encourage minority girls. Those who pass class VI to VII and score 60% marks in the annual examination are given cash award @ Rs. 400/- and those who score 50% to 59% marks in the annual examination are given cash award of Rs. 200/- each. Similarly Rs.700 is paid to the girls who pass class IX I and score 60% marks and Rs. 300/- to the girls who score 50% to 59% marks in the annual examination . Rs. 1000/- mi sapid to the girls who score 50% to 59 % marks in the Madhyamik Examination.

6. BEGUM ROKYA MERIT AWARD
Begam Rokya is the prominent educationist and social reformer of undivided Bengal. She opened the first girls school for the minority girls at Rangpur,now in Bangladesh. To honour her efforts for the progress of the minority girls, this Deptt. propose to introduce a merit award namely “ Begam Rokya Merit Award” for Minority Topper Girl students of Madhyamik & H.S. Exam subject to securing minimum 60% marks. The topper girls will be awarded with ` 5000/- in cash and also a Gold Medal from the year 2012-13.

7. VOCATIONAL TRAINING IN DIFFERENT COURSES FOR MINORITY STUDENTS
A. Nursing Course:
Students of the minority community, who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, are sent outside the state for studying Nursing (GNM). 105 students were trained under this scheme 2009-2010 to 2011-2012. 89 students have been sent outside the state for GNM training in 2012-2013.
B.pharma Course:
Students of the Minority Community, who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination, are sent outside the state for studying in the B.Pharma course. 10 students have been sent outside the state for studying in B.Pharma course till 2012-2013 under this scheme.
C.Training in paramedical course:
8 students have been admitted at the Tripura Institute of Paramedical Science (TIPS) in Agartala in 2012-2013 in different course of Paramedical Science under this scheme.
To put emphasis on vocational training courses for educated unemployed youths courses like GNM(Girls & Boys ), B-Pharma, and Paramedical Sciences like BMLT/BMRIT/BHM etc. are already been introduced. At present Total 216 nos. students are studying in the above mentioned courses. 208 nos. students out of 216 are studying in the outside states. Total Girls student who are studying in the different vocational courses are 178 and boys are 38.
There is plan to introduce new vocational training courses like B.Sc nursing etc. during 2013-14 financial year.
